Es is the character that the player will interact with most in Alter Ego. Representing the id, Es is depicted as being very distressed by intrusive and impulsive thoughts. She is also tormented by the implication that Ego Rex is always repeating that she is a failure and must conform.
Es is depicted as an achromatic woman. She wears formal attire and an ascot. She's always depicted holding a blank book, and wears her hair in a braid that she keeps to one side.
Throughout the game, Es will deliver psychology related tests to the player. These tests don't affect the ending of the game but will change what mirror shards are collected by the player. It's actually the dialogue options promted by interacting with Es that will trigger a possible three different endings.
In the postgame after triggering the true ending, the player has the option to discuss different books with Es. There are also DLC options to unlock additional dialogue and support the developers.
While Es is implied to have some feelings for The Wanderer and will ask to hold their hand, this interpretation is techincally non-canon.
